About Us

The church of Christ began on the first Pentecost following the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Acts 2). Such is the fulfillment of Daniel 2:44, Isaiah 2:2 - 3, Micah 4:1 -2 and certainly the occasion prophesied at Joel 2:28 - 32. When Peter and the rest of the apostles preached the gospel of Jesus Christ (i.e. His death, burial and resurrection -- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) this message pricked the hearts of the hearers. They asked Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Peter answered, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) When these hearers obeyed that command, the Bible says, "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." (Acts 2:41) Verses 46 and  47 of this text say, " And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Thus began the church of Christ!

Jesus promised to build only ONE church (Matthew 16:18). The apostle Paul speaks of Jesus Christ being THE (i.e. this certain ONE) head of the body the church (Ephesians 1:22 - 23; Colossians 1:18). Therefore, there is no earthly head of the church. The law governing the church of Christ is the law of Christ, better known as the New Testament (Hebrews 7:20 - 28; 9:15 - 20; 10: 1 - 10). All we say and do much have the authority of Jesus Christ. (Colossians 3:17). His authority came from God the Father (Matthew 28:18) and therefore Jesus retains this authority until He delivers the kingdom (i.e. the church of Christ) to the Father in the last day (1 Corinthians 15:24 - 28).

You will find at the church of Christ a warm welcome and a fervent desire to study from God's Word. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Our singing is acapella (i.e. without instrumental music) for such is the commandment of Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16. We prayer fervently and frequently (1 Thessalonians 5:17; James 5:16). Upon the first day of every week, we partake of the communion (i.e. Lord's supper) as they did at Acts 20:7; doing so according to the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23 - 29). We also give as we have been prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6 - 8). This contribution is NOT solicited from those who are not a part of this local church inasmuch as the stated commandments pertain to the local membership. We also have preaching each Lord's Day at these services.

Bible study is a frequent and enjoyed activity of the church of Christ. We do so in order to assure ourselves and others of doing all things according to God's Word! By inspiration, Paul commanded bible study (2 Timothy 2:15). The Bereans studied daily (Acts 17:11). Therefore, classes are available for all age groups (including adults) for the purpose of studying the scriptures. Usually, a "verse by verse" discussion is the style of our study: questions and comments are welcomed from all attending these studies.

We stand ready, willing and able to discuss these Spiritual things with you (1 Peter 3:15). We have no agenda other than saving our souls and in doing so, help you in saving your soul. We encourage and invite your assembling with us at your every opportunity.
